“Sarasota home-grown label Finch House Records will highlight its own at the Cock & Bull this Friday as The Closet presents The Finch House Showcase — a free show featuring some of the area’s fastest rising indie acts. Heart-pouring balladry from cello/electric guitar duo Bard and Mustache will complement the raucous party songs of evolving slap-happy dance band Cats in the Basement, as just one example of the wide range of emotions that will be spilling from the stage throughout the night. Goofy yet uplifting indie five-piece Fancy Rat has become a sing-along favorite of silly dance aficionados, while the hard-driving and head-bobbing rhythms of The Equines are accentuated with lyrics of longing and loss.
