Fancy Rat is fixin’ to drop a load…

…In the form of their debut album.

Hello, Sarasota and the world surrounding it… Fancy Rat has sprung from your loins and is ready to raise hell.

Over the past month the motley assortment of misfit musicians has been recording diligently in the quote-unquote studio, facing rivaling schedules (six band members are tricky to wrangle up) and the perils of shit jobs and foreclosure notices. The band’s instrumentation covers a sizable spectrum, featuring french horn (Sarah Mobarekeh), beat-boxing (Dan Demerin), and gang vocals, as well as the standards: electric lead guitar (Tobias Norton), acoustic rhythm guitar (Brian Yoder), and bass guitar (Adam Marret). Don’t want to read about it? Listen to their track featured on the Noise Ordinance compilation.

Bassist and recording engineer Adam Marret says he hopes the album, scheduled for release at Shamrock Pub on May 26, will “make everyone’s ears shit their pants”.  If you’ve seen their live show, you know exactly what Adam is talking about. While finishing touches find their places and release show details fall in order, you just sit pretty.

Your vigilance will bring you handsome, messy rewards.
