Dignan (TX)
“Dignan plays atmospheric music that has a distinctive psychedelic chamber rock feel with multi-layered vocals delivered in gentle and mellifluous intones or passionate cries, wordless chorales rising in the background, tasteful washes of sound with slight textural details added for affect — glock chimes, guitar reverb, tambourine jingles, hand-claps, accordion notes, whistling.
The young unsigned DIY Texas group put out a few EPs before self-releasing a short and haunting debut LP, Cheaters & Thieves, in 2009. They earned a spot on a Paste Magazine/Heineken CD Sampler with their morbidly lovely “Two Steps” and just recorded their first Daytrotter session.” -Julie Garisto, CL Tampa
