Tommy “Preson” Phillips may be the pastor/planter of Tampa-based church Watermark, but he’s one hell of a bandleader too. Touring in support of his outfit’s latest LP – Wrath – Preson is the creator of anthemic acoustic guitar-driven indie-pop, which is exemplified on “It Lives, It Speaks, It Pleads” – which is four-minutes of perfectly-crafted pop music disguised as a praise & worship tune.
